Hansen Publishing Group logo

Welcome to Hansen Publishing Group! We publish books on the visual arts, performing arts and language arts. We publish both non-fiction and original works of fiction, poetry and drama. The works of nonfiction we plan to publish will be how-to books like our Starting and Finishing the Paper by Michael Walters and Ellen Diehl-Matto, biographies like our book Tennessee Williams in Provincetown by David Kaplan, and works of appreciation of an artist like our forthcoming book Tennessee Williams: His Life, His Art, His World by Kenneth Holditch and Richard Leavitt.

We are a young house. We published our first title, Tennessee Williams in Provincetown by David Kaplan in October 2006. However, we are not short on experience. Our staff has decades of experience in all aspects of the book trade from bookselling to printing, from web design to marketing, and from photography to teaching writing. We are committed to creatives, to teaching people how to create and to helping the rest of us understand and appreciate the creation.

We are not a traditional publisher — either in form or content. No, we’re not abandoning the traditional book. We love the sound of a spine cracking and the smell of a new book just as much as any bibliophile. Yes, we’re embracing the new opportunities technology affords publishers, authors and readers to share and interact with each other. We just finished creating web sites with blogs for all of our books. Now our authors and readers have a place to gather and converse. Our author John DiLeo’s blog for his book Screen Savers: 40 Remarkable Movies Awaiting Rediscovery hosts over forty videos of John talking about those movies he loves. It’s a very active blog with many people subscribing to its RSS feed, so they can keep in touch.

We have more to come, and I look forward to sharing the news with you on the blog for this site in the future. In the mean time, keep reading, creating and sharing — art can change the world!
