Our author Gregg Barrios has been elected into the Texas Institute of Letters (TIL). The induction is based on literary achievement. Gregg Barrios induction officially occurs at the TIL 2015 Awards Banquet at the University of Houston on April 10-11. The Texas Institute of Letters is a non-profit organization that stimulates interest in Texas letters and recognizes literary achievement.

I asked Gregg Barrios what it was like to receive this prestigious honor. He responded,

Being nominated by my literary peers for induction in TIL was humbling and more importantly an honor. Then to be elected by the illustrious membership into an organization that celebrates literary accomplishment was icing on the cake. As one of a handful of playwrights in TIL, I am still reeling to be standing next to writers who not only have inspired my work but for whom I owe a debt of gratitude.

Gregg is a dramatist, poet and journalist. Hansen Publishing Group has published his collection of poems La Causa and his play Rancho Pancho about Tennessee Williams and his lover Pancho Rodriguez, who inspired the character of Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire.

The honor was also covered in the San Antiono Express, the San Antonio Current, and OUTINSA.
