Gregg Barrios’ SEVEN-CARD STUD Opens at Overtime Theater


Poster for Seven-Card Stud by Gregg BarriosPlaywright Gregg Barrios’ new play Seven-Card Stud opens Friday night, March 3 at the Overtime Theater in San Antonio, Texas.  Seven-Card Stud is about the aging American playwright Tennessee Williams and his former lover and Texas native Pancho Rodriguez whom Williams used as a model for his character Stanley Kowalski in Streetcar Named Desire. The tale is told by Pancho’s twin brother Johnny Rodriguez.

If you’re interested in learning more about the relationship between Pancho Rodriguez and Tennessee Williams, Gregg Barrios has written another play about their fleeting love affair entitled Rancho Pancho (2009).

Seven-Card Stud features actors Rick Frederick, Brian Zavala, and Aaron M. Ramos and is directed by Richard David Anthony. Seven-Card Stud runs from March 3-March 25, 2017 with 8pm performances on Friday and Saturdays, along with select Sunday matinees. Please check the Overtime Theater for details.
