Preorder Karen Kondazian’s novel THE WHIP

The Whip by Karen Kondazian from Hansen Publishing Group

Karen Kondazian’s debut novel THE WHIP will release in early November 2011. THE WHIP is a historical romance novel loosely based on the life of “Charley” Parkhurst (1812-1879), the renowned Californian stagecoach driver. However, “Charley” is really Charlotte who disguised her gender, even from her closest friends, from around 1849 until her death in 1879. Not much is known about Parkhurst prior to her arrival in California in 1849. Kondazian does a wonderful job filling in the blanks and weaving plausible and entertaining stories into the history. THE WHIP is more about a woman creating her own identity, breaking the gender conventions of her time and finding happiness in who she is. Charlotte “Charley” Parkhurst was one of America’s first feminists; she was a real trail blazer who was also the first woman to vote in America—even if it was as a man.

THE WHIP will be released by Hansen Publishing Group simultaneously as a trade paperback and as an ebook. You can now preorder the paperback version of THE WHIP at Amazon.com or at Barnes and Noble. We expect the ebook to become available for preordering in October.
