Congratulations to Gregg Barrios! Gregg has been elected to a three-year term to the National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) governing board by its membership. Gregg’s tenure on the NBCC board begins in March 2010 at its annual meeting in New York City. Founded in 1974, the National Book Critics Circle boasts over 600 active book reviewers providing an independent voice to book reviewing.
Gregg Barrios’ election to the NBCC board adds a voice outside of the New York literary establishment. Gregg makes his home in San Antonio, Texas where he spends his time writing plays, poetry and feature news articles about the arts and social issues.
Gregg Barrios is the author of RANCHO PANCHO (Hansen Publishing Group), a play about the stormy relationship of playwright Tennessee Williams and Pancho Rodriguez. RANCHO PANCHO has been performed in San Antonio, New Orleans and Provincetown. His forthcoming collection of poetry entitled LA CAUSA will be released by Hansen Publishing Group later this year. LA CAUSA is a group of poems written about the Hispanic civil rights movement.
