The California State Library selected Karen Kondazian’s novel The Whip as book of the week for February 17, 2017. Karen Kondazian is a California resident, and much of The Whip takes place in California. A historical novel, The Whip follows the life of Charley “Charlotte” Parkhurst a famous stagecoach driver of the old west who spent her life disguised as a man.
