J.v.L. Bell’s Will Rogers Medallion Award for Western Humor

J.v.L. Bell’s novel The Lucky Hat Mine received the 2018 Will Rogers Medallion Award for Western Humor, Written. Although the award was announced in November 2018, she just just received the Medallion, and I wanted to share a picture of it. The Will Rogers Medallion Award is an annual award that recognizes outstanding achievement in Western books and films. We congratulate J.v.L. Bell and thank The Will Rogers Medallion Award Committee for honoring her work.

Bell’s The Lucky Hat Mine is a Western murder mystery filled with humor and romance. It begins with Miss Millie Virginia answering a wife-wanted ad and heading out to Colorado mining country only to find her suitor is dead, perhaps murdered for his claim. Not knowing who to trust, Miss Millie embarks on a crusade to find his killer and finds romance along the way.

Millie returns in August 2019 in Bell’s newest novel, Denver City Justice, with more humor, murder, and sleuthing in the Old West.

J.v.L. Bell is a Colorado native who was raised climbing Colorado’s 14,000 foot mountains, exploring old ghost towns, and reading stories about life in the early frontier days. She enjoys hiking with friends and family, visiting new places and meeting new people, rafting the rivers of Utah and Colorado, and reading great historical fiction. She lives in Louisville, Colorado with her two daughters and her husband.
