Joe Paprzycki’s play Last Rites inspires Filmmaker Douglas Clayton

Playwright Joseph Paprzycki and cover of his play Last RitesIt’s always nice when a writer’s work and life inspires and another artist in a different medium—such is the case for Joe Paprzycki and his play, Last Rites and Douglas Clayton and his short documentary film, Dovere. Joe Paprzycki’s play Last Rites takes place in his grandparents bar in Camden, NJ in 1967. The site of the bar is now the location for the South Camden Theatre Company which Joe Paprzycki worked tirelessly to bring about. Douglass Clayton’s documentary film Dovere is about the return of the arts to Camden, NJ of which Paprzycki plays an important part. There’s a screening of Dovere at the Luxembourg House in New York on April 19, 2018. To learn more, please read “First-time Fimmaker Lauded for Camden Documentary” at CommunityNews.org.
