JvL Bell to Lecture on Colorado Women’s History


JvL Bell and book cover of Lucky Hat MineAuthor J.v.L. Bell is to appear at the Center for Colorado Women’s History on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, 1:30-2:30pm. J.v.L. Bell’s lecture is entitled “Pike’s Pike or Bust,” part of the Colorado Women Lecture series. J.v.L. Bell’s lecture is based on the adventures of well-known and not so well-known Colorado frontiers women, like Elizabeth Byers, Augusta Talon, and Addie LaMont. Bell’s stories should inform and entertain all.

J.v.L. Bell is the author of The Lucky Hat Mine which is a finalist for the 2018 Will Rogers Medallion Award in Western Humor. She is also a Colorado native who was raised climbing Colorado’s 14,000 foot mountains, exploring old ghost towns, and reading stories about life in the early frontier days. She enjoys hiking with friends and family, visiting new places and meeting new people, rafting the rivers of Utah and Colorado, and reading great historical fiction. She lives in Louisville, Colorado with her two daughters and her husband.
