STONES by Michael Aaron Rockland

STONES is the first novel to be published by Hansen Publishing Group, but it is Michael Aaron Rockland’s second novel. He is the author of twelve books, and almost all of them are nonfiction.

Michael Aaron Rockaland’s  first novel, A BLISS CASE, was published in 1989. It was a New York Times “Notable Book of the Year” (NYT Book Review, December 3, 1989). Twenty years may seem a long hiatus from writing fiction, but not for Michael.

Michael explained to me that the idea for STONES has been percolating for a long time. The opportunity to write it came last year. Now the time has come to share with you the one day sojourn of an adult son and his elderly mother as they visit their family’s graves in their Jewish tradition.

STONES is a story of personal introspection, family revelations, choices made and not made, and the passing of tradition from one generation to the next. STONES captures the story of a Jewish immigrant family and their struggles to keep their family traditions and at the same time be part of the American dream.

STONES releases in October 2009. Hansen Publishing Group. ISBN 978-1-60182-300-7. Price $14.95.
