Gregg Barrios “Linked” to Tennessee Williams Exhibit


Gregg Barrios and the book cover of Rancho PanchoGregg Barrios, the author of Rancho Pancho a play about Tennessee Williams and his lover Pancho Rodriguez, was “linked” to the new Tennessee Williams exhibit at the Morgan Library and Museum in a New York Times article by Ben Brantley entitled “Tennessee Williams, Restless and Revising.” The “link” in the article was to Gregg Barrios’ 2006 piece in the Texas Observer entitled “The Kindness of Strangers” about his investigation into the relationship of Pancho Rodriguez and Tennessee Williams. In the end, Barrios is convinced that Pancho was Tennessee’s inspiration for Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire.
