“A conversation with Broadway Veteran Ellen Tovatt Leary” is a new interview with Ellen Tovatt Leary hosted by Alejandra Enciso-Dardashti of “From Another Zero” blog. The format is interesting because it goes beyond the usual question and answer interview. Ms. Enciso-Dardashti follows each response from Ellen Tovatt Leary with some of her own commentary which enhances the interview.
THE UNDERSTUDY is about actress Nina Landau as she strives to make it on Broadway in 1970s New York. Experience her Broadway audition nerves and rejections to her eventual success on Broadway. Nina experiences thrilling triumphs as well as crushing setbacks and has a passionate love affair with her leading man.
Ellen Tovatt Leary spent twenty years acting on the professional stage. She performed in theaters from the Ahmanson in Los Angeles to the State Theatre in Lincoln Center, including four Broadway theaters (the Barrymore, the Lyceum, the Helen Hayes, and the Palace), and many Off-Broadway and regional theaters. She worked with Hal Prince, Maureen Stapleton and James Hammerstein among others. She graduated from Antioch College and was a Fulbright scholar at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
